The pastor made a plea for his church to give to missions. He asked, “If any of you had a million dollars, how many of you would give it to missions?”
Every hand went up.
“What if you had $10,000?”
Again, every hand went up.
Then the pastor asked, “If you had $100, would you give it to missions?”
Every hand went up but one.
“Why didn’t you raise your hand?” the pastor asked the man who didn’t raise his hand.
The man responded, “Because I have $100.”
The Bible says, “A generous person will prosper” (Proverbs 11:25). It’s easy to commit to God things that we don’t have. All the while, God is just waiting for you to release what is in your hand already.
Recovery Step: Give God what you have. He can do more with it than you ever could.
