The Bible says, “Rejoice in the wife of your youth” (Proverbs 5:18).
I have been rejoicing in the wife of my youth for 40 years now. On February 26, 1983, Beth and I were married. That’s a long time ago.
- Reagan was President.
- Dallas was the #1 TV show.
- Gas was $1.16 per gallon.
- Cabbage Patch Dolls were the rage.
- The first mobile phone was introduced.
Since we said, “I do,” 40 years ago, a lot has changed. I have had one son, 80 kidney stones, and one heart attack. I have pastored three churches, earned four degrees, and moved five times.
But through it all, there has been one constant in my life – my incredible wife. She is my best friend, my biggest fan, and my soulmate.
I can’t imagine doing life – or recovery – without her.
Recovery Step: Rejoice with the wife of your youth.
