A man walking on the beach picked up an old bottle. When he pulled out the cork, out popped a genie. (Stop me if you’ve heard this!)
The genie, of course, offered to grant the man three wishes.
His first two were easy: $1 million and a new Ferrari. The third wish was a bit more difficult.
“I want to be irresistible to women,” the man requested.
He soon got his wish. Poof! After a flash of light, the man was turned into a box of chocolates.
One of the character flaws that fuels sex addiction the most is the desire to be attractive to the opposite sex. Some guys would be willing to be turned into a box of chocolates if that’s what it took to make them appealing to women.
There is a better way. Embrace who you are right now. That is the only way you will ever really be satisfied.
Recovery Step: The Bible says you were “made in the image of God” (Genesis 1:27). That means you are attractive to the Creator of the universe. Celebrate that. It’s better than being turned into a box of chocolates.
