It happened 23 years ago today.
On September 11, 2001, a plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. At that same moment, on the 78th floor, Michael Hingson, who is blind from birth, was at his desk working. He heard and felt the impact of the plane and knew he had to get out. He reached for his trusted guide dog, Rosy, and encouraged people to follow them. “Trust Rosy,” he told them. “She’ll lead us out.” Responding only to the voice of her master, Rosy never broke stride as she led Michael and thirty other people down 1,463 steps to safety.
The Bible says there is a way that seems right to man – the many voices of the world – but it leads to destruction. The Holy Spirit gives us discernment to recognize the one true Voice leading us out of the chaos and destruction in this world to safety. Which voice will you follow?
“Your ears will hear a word behind you, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right or to the left” (Isaiah 30:21).
Recovery Step: Listen for the voice of God. He is speaking. The next move is yours.
