Before A.G. Spalding was a sporting goods magnate, he was a great baseball player. He was arguably the first great pitcher, winning a remarkable 252 games over a seven-year career, including 52 wins in one season.
But it was one move that by which Spalding made his lasting mark. A.G. Spalding was the first baseball player to wear a glove. Until he began his career with the Boston Red Stockings in 1871, it had never occurred to anyone else to wear a baseball glove.
Just as Spalding blazed a new trail, you need to chart a new course – apart from what everyone else does. Do recovery the way it works for you, connect with God in ways that are meaningful to you.
The God who said, “Behold, I am doing a new thing” (Isaiah 43:19) wants to do something new in, for, to, and through you.
Let him.
