Let me give you something to ponder today. What is the only thing worse than finding a worm in an apple?
Answer: finding half a worm in an apple and wondering where the other half is.
It only takes half a worm for most people to step away from the apple. The fact that a partial worm has invaded a partial apple is all we need to swap that apple for a banana, a peach, or anything else.
The Bible says, “A little leaven leavens the whole lump” (1 Corinthians 5:6).
A little worm ruins the whole apple, just as a little leaven leavens the whole lump. This principle applies to addiction. A little fantasy, a little lust, a little porn. They all put our sobriety in peril.
So watch out for the little stuff. Half a worm can mess up the whole apple.
