Your addiction may explain your behaviors, but it does not excuse your behaviors. Every time you act out, that is on you.
C.S. Lewis said, “Every time you make a choice, you are turning the central part of you either into a heavenly creature or into a hellish creature.”
Sometimes, choices are obvious – right vs wrong. Other times, they aren’t so clear. Solomon said, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12).
When facing life’s toughest decisions, I urge you to do three things:
Pray.
Fast.
Pray some more.
Recovery Step: Your sobriety or relapse is as close as your next decision.
