One Sunday, the pastor announced that a special guest would be joining the congregation in mere minutes – Lucifer. He told the morning crowd, “The devil will be here in five minutes. If you want to leave, you better leave now.”
Five minutes later, the devil arrived, walked into the church auditorium, and faced a room full of empty pews.
Except for one man.
The devil looked down from the platform and addressed the man, sitting on the front pew. “Aren’t you afraid of me? Do you know who I am?”
“Sure, you’re the devil,” the lone congregant replied.
The devil asked, “Then why are you still here? Aren’t you afraid of me?”
The man explained, “Why would I be afraid of you? I’ve been married to your sister for 35 years!”
So what’s the point of this story? No point. I just thought you could use a good laugh.
Recovery Step: The Bible says, “Rejoice with the wife of your youth” (Proverbs 5:18).
