It’s okay to not have all the answers.
Michael Rounds is the author of 10,000 Days Sober and an addiction recovery specialist at a correctional facility in Indiana. From his personal perspective, he suggests four ways to deal with a slip in recovery. One of those is to treat recovery as a marathon, not a sprint.
He writes, “You must be willing to set a pace that is good for you and your recovery. I have been in recovery for nearly 30 years now. There are still days when I have felt that I do not have the answers.”
There is no recovery apart from humility. Peter said, “Humble yourselves, then, under God’s mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time. Leave all your worries with him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7).
Recovery Step: It’s okay to not have all the answers. As long as you know the one who does.
