We say, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” But no one really eats an apple a day.
We say a lot of things – we’re going to join a gym, eat healthy, or spend less time playing silly video games. Many of us say we love our church, but a smaller percentage of Christians give to their churches today than people of the Great Depression.
Here’s another one for you. Just about everyone agrees that God doesn’t want them to watch porn. In fact, I have yet to meet the person who said God led them to start a good porn habit. So we know what God wants; his voice is clear.
Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand” (Matthew 7:26).
Recovery Step: To hear God’s voice and live as if you hadn’t is pure foolishness. My suggestion? Work on your follow-through. You say you’re going to quit porn. Now do it! Then celebrate by eating an apple.
