If you live for people’s approval, you will die from their rejection.
Paul wrote, “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of God” (Galatians 1:10).
I’ll say it again. If you live for people’s approval, you will die from their rejection.
That doesn’t mean you should invite rejection. Nor should you run from it. The fact is, the only way you can avoid all criticism is by doing nothing. And that’s no good.
Commit to doing what you feel God wants you to do – with your life, your work, and your recovery. Leave the rest in God’s hands.
