Mark and Beth Denison, married for 36 years, launched There’s Still Hope as a national movement to call men and women into lives of sexual integrity. Their ministry offers 90-day recovery plans for addicts and one-on-one and group coaching for addicts and their spouses. TSH also produces resources for pastors and churches to confront the porn epidemic that is destroying so many lives. Dr. Denison was a senior pastor for over 30 years, NBA chaplain, and board chairman at Houston Baptist University three times. With a Master’s Degree in Addiction Recovery, Mark is a certified PSAP and active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Mark has written four books on recovery: Porn in the Pew, 365 Days to Sexual Integrity, A 90-Day Recovery Guide, and 40 Days to Porn-Free Living. His latest book, Jesus on the 12 Steps, will be released later this year.

Futility

Let’s talk about one of the demons that can bring you down the hardest – futility. When you start believing the lie that recovery is futile, that your periods of relapse have rendered you hopeless, that is when you are in real trouble. Dr. Jay Stringer writes, “When futility goes unaddressed, it will eventually taunt…

Past & Present

Do you ever feel stuck? Ever feel like you have an uncertain future? King David pondered that very question: “How can we sing the songs of the Lord while in a foreign land?” (Psalm 137:4). Repeat after me – “My past does not define me and it does not own me.” John R. Rice was…

The White House

In 1792, Thomas Jefferson convinced George Washington that the government needed a presidential home. It was decided to solicit drawings from the public. In March of 1792, ads were printed, offering $500 to the person who submitted the winning design. Only nine designers applied. Why We Lie

Tim Allen said, “Men are liars. I’m an algebra liar. I figure two good lies make a positive.” The Bible says, “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord” (Proverbs 12:22). Fleeing for his life, Williams came to a pond covered with a thin layer of ice. After…

And the results have been devastating. The Kinsey Institute has found that men’s use of porn has resulted in 86 percent of them finding reduced sexual quality with their partners.…

The Power of 100 Free Throws

On January 21, 1989, Michigan played Wisconsin in a men’s basketball game. The game came down to two free throws by Michigan guard Rumeal Robinson. He clanked both shots, and the Wolverines lost by a single point. Determined that this would never happen again, Robinson stayed after every practice for the rest of the season,…

The Man Who Gave Us Three Presidents

A powerful storm battered the Mayflower as it carried the Pilgrims across the Atlantic Ocean. When a young passenger named John Howland came up on deck, the storm swept him out to sea, where he disappeared beneath the water’s raging waves. Howland somehow grabbed onto a rope and held on for dear life. He was…

Who Does Porn Really Hurt?

I hear it all the time. “My porn habit doesn’t really hurt anyone.” That’s not exactly true. 1. Porn hurts family and friends. Porn leads to isolation. Porn users often spend up to 20 hours a week on their habit. This leads to a total withdrawal from family and friends. 2. Porn hurts your spouse.…
