There are three things that put our sobriety at great risk:
- Certain places
- Certain people
- Certain thoughts
Every day, we make a decision to do one of two things. We either run from danger or toward danger. The Bible says it like this: “Each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed” (James 1:14).
If you are to stay sober today, it won’t be because you avoided sin. It will be because you avoided temptation whenever possible. You know the places, people, and thoughts you need to avoid. Now do it.
Recovery Step: Avoid dangerous places, people, and thoughts today.
