An unobservant driver made an illegal right turn onto another street. Exasperated, he turned to his young son in the passenger seat and said, “That was stupid! I just made an illegal right turn!”
His son offered encouragement. “Aw, dad, it’s okay. The police car right behind us just did the same thing.”
That boy clearly has the gift of encouragement.
Few things matter as much as encouragement. That’s why the Bible says, “Encourage one another and build one another up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Try that today. Encourage someone in their recovery. In the process, your own recovery will move forward.
Recovery Step: There’s enough negativity in this world. What we need is one more encourager. May that person be you.
