Beth and I recently ate at a particular restaurant, largely because of its dozens of positive online reviews.
Those reviews were wrong.
Charles Spurgeon said, “A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”
Dishonest reviews about a restaurant can cost you a nice night out. Dishonest reviews in other areas can have far worse consequences.
Perhaps you’ve heard these reviews:
- A little porn won’t hurt.
- You can stop anytime you want.
- Secrets are not harmful.
Recovery Step: Many a man or woman has gone down the path of destruction because they listened to bad reviews. “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans” (Psalm 118:8-9).
