There are several ways to burn calories. Swim one hour and you’ll burn 250 calories. By riding a bike for an hour, you can burn another 600. Walking an hour will burn 300 more.
If that’s not enough, try beating your head against a wall. Seriously. If you strike your head against a wall for an hour, you will burn 150 calories.
Too many of us spend our lives beating our heads against a wall. We keep doing the same things over and over, expecting different results.
William Shatner said, “I’m gonna reveal something to you that’s going to come as a shock. If you’re a stupid young man, you’ll probably be a stupid old man. Most people, including myself, keep repeating the same mistakes.”
Solomon said it like this: “As a dog returns to his own vomit, so a fool repeats his folly” (Proverbs 26:11).
Recovery Step: In order to have a break-through, you’ve got to quit beating your head against a wall. Quit repeating the same mistakes. Do the things you’ve never done, so you can achieve the recovery you’ve never had.
