For those who may be wondering, I was not the buyer. But I have bought into some other art which is even better. God’s handiwork.
I live six miles from the beach. Anytime I want, I can be there in less than 15 minutes. What awaits is an incredible sunset. Green water. White sand. Dolphins. Manatees.
In short – paradise.
And it all comes at no charge. God has given us an incredible world to enjoy. He gives us the warmth of his sunshine, the cool of his breeze, the irrigation of his rain – all without cost.
But there’s more. It’s what Spurgeon called the “bank of heaven.” He wrote, “Scripture is the bank of heaven. You may draw from it as much as you please, without interference or hindrance.”
Recovery Step: The Bible says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1). If you can’t afford a ballgame, a movie, or a big vacation, enjoy this – God’s handiwork. And his “bank of heaven.”
