- Apollo 11 astronauts signed hundreds of autographs to be sold by their wives if they didn’t return safely from the moon, as they were unable to get life insurance due to the dangers of space travel.
- McDonald’s first introduced drive-through service so that military personnel could pick up food without having to change clothes. (Soldiers weren’t allowed to wear their uniforms in public at the time.)
- Alfred Hitchcock was terrified of eggs.
