A close friend recently sent me a picture of a t-shirt, which read, “I don’t need Google. My wife knows everything.”
While we can debate the validity of this assumption, one thing seems clear. Women do seem to possess a keen sense of discernment when it comes to their husbands’ behaviors.
My wife has the gift of discernment, listed among the spiritual gifts in Paul’s writings (1 Corinthians 12:10). What is discernment, exactly? Charles Spurgeon described discernment as “not knowing the difference between right and wrong, but knowing the difference between right and almost right.”
Guys, your wife may not know everything, but if she has the gift of discernment, learn to listen to her.
Recovery Step: Ask for God’s help in discerning the difference between what is right and what is almost right.
