If you want to know what kind of person you will be tomorrow, ask yourself one question. What am I feeding my mind today?
The apostle advised, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk” (1 Peter 2:2).
You can’t control what goes on around you or what happens to you. But you do get a vote on what happens in you. As Marcus Aurelius said, “You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.”
God never called you to be successful. But he did call you to be holy. That only comes with time. And your personal holiness is completely dependent on one thing: what you put into your mind.
Erwin Lutzer said, “There are no shortcuts to spiritual maturity. It takes time to be holy.”
Recovery Step: Today, don’t seek sobriety. Seek holiness.
