There is no substitute for reading books.
Ivan Pavlow said, “If you want a new idea, read an old book.” And C.S. Lewis mused, “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
The Bible weighs in: “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman who needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
My old college professor told his young ministerial students, “A call to preach is a call to prepare.” The same is true with recovery. And part of that preparation process includes reading.
Recovery Step: Commit to reading a new book on recovery in the month of May. If you need ideas, visit our Resource page at TheresStillHope.org.
