“Put off your old self” (Ephesians 4:22).
Change is a part of recovery. Any progress is tied to our willingness to change. Let’s turn to three pretty smart guys for more inspiration on the value of change.
Jack Welch said, “Change before you have to.” Don’t wait until your addiction buries you. The best time to get sober was 20 years ago. The second best time is today.
Leo Tolstoy said, “True life is lived when tiny changes occur.” Don’t swing for the fences. Make one small change each week, and the result will be a massive change by the end of the year.
John Maxwell said, “Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.” Whether you find solid sobriety is up to you. Recovery doesn’t magically happen. It is optional.
Recovery Step: Pick a quote, any quote. Repeat that throughout the day and implement its principles in everyday life.
