One of my truisms in life is this: seek answers and you will be frustrated; seek God and answers will find you.
J.I. Packer said, “There is no more compelling goal than knowing God.”
And the prophet said, “I desired the knowledge of God more than burn offerings” (Hosea 6:6).
You will never find lasting recovery unless you are desperate for that recovery. But first, you must be desperate for the God who is so in love with you. It is that divine love that draws us to the God of the universe.
I love the way Francis Chan says it: “The greatest knowledge we can ever have is knowing God treasures us.”
Recovery Step: God treasures your recovery. But he treasures you even more. So chase after him, for there is no more compelling goal than knowing God.
