We are all afraid of something.
Napoleon was afraid of rabbits. One day he was hunting when a swarm of rabbits appeared. In fear, Napolean ran for his life, hiding behind his men.
Arnold Schoenberg was afraid of the number 13. The great composer attributed all of his life’s bad luck to the fact that he was born on September 13. He avoided the number 13 whenever possible, even refusing to go into buildings that had “13” as part of their address. Interestingly, Schoenberg died on July 13.
Kurt Warner, a Hall-of-Fame quarterback, was asked why he wore the number 13 on his uniform. He said, “As a Christian, I refuse to be ruled by fear.”
What fear is ruling your life? Here’s good news from King David: “I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34:4).
Recovery Step: Seek the Lord, who can conquer all fears.
