Be creative with your recovery.
Have you ever considered that before? I have embraced the basics of recovery for years, checking every box.
Go to meetings? Check.
Work the steps? Check.
Get a sponsor? Check.
Become a sponsor? Check.
Pray daily? Check.
Make calls? Check.
But it can become easy to fall into a rut. That’s when you need to tap into the creative, unique side of your personal wiring.
When God’s children got into trouble, notice what he did. “He has filled them to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers – all of them skilled workers and designers” (Exodus 35:35).
The Lord gave each person his own unique set of skills in order to accomplish the larger task. He has done the same for you. Your job is to think outside the box and do something a little different. Get creative.
Recovery Step: British author John Trogdon has written a helpful article, “10 Powerful Tips for Beating Any Kind of Addiction.” One of the most interesting tips Trogdon suggests is to “harness your creativity.” Try that with your recovery today. Harness your creativity.
