The women had given everything they had to their new Lord. Then he went to the cross and gave his life as a ransom for the world. But from their perspective, all they understood was that one day, Jesus was with them, and the next day, he was gone. Forever.
Then, everything changed in an instant. “Suddenly, Jesus met them.”
The resurrected Christ didn’t preach to them. He didn’t scold them. Nor did he perform a miracle. He simply met them.
N.T. Wright summarized Easter perfectly: “Easter was when Hope in person surprised the whole world by coming forward from the future into the present.”
Recovery Step: Don’t make it complicated. Today, on this blessed Easter Sunday, the King of the universe has one thing on his agenda. He wants to meet with you.
