Mark Twain said, “I can live two weeks on a good compliment.”
I read somewhere that the average person needs to hear 14 statements of personal encouragement each day. Rarely does that actually happen.
Wise old Solomon understood the human experience well when he said, “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones” (Proverbs 16:24).
Of course, you can’t control how much encouragement you receive, but you can control how much encouragement you give.
Encourage three people today:
- Someone who has blessed you
- Someone who is hurting
- Someone who does a good job
Recovery Step: Encourage three people today.
