A little girl climbed into her daddy’s lap and asked him to build her a dollhouse. Much to her delight, he promised to do so. Then he left town for an extended business trip. When he returned, he entered his daughter’s room, to find all of her dolls and doll furniture packed in boxes. When he asked her about it, she said she had packed for the upcoming move into the new dollhouse.
Although her father had not yet built the dollhouse, and though the daughter could see no physical evidence that he ever would, she took him at his word and prepared for the upcoming move, not knowing exactly when that would take place.
Jesus promised that after he went away, he would prepare our dollhouse. “I will prepare a place for you, that where I am, you may be also” (John 14:2).
I know two things about this “dollhouse.”
- It will be free of all sexual temptation.
- God is working on it, whether you can see it or not.
Recovery Step: Walk in freedom, knowing things are about to get a whole lot better.
