After Michelangelo died, a piece of paper was found in his studio, on which the old master had scribbled a note to his apprentice. “Draw, Antonio. Draw, Antonio. Draw, and do not waste time.”
The great apostle seems to agree with that sentiment. Paul wrote, “Do not waste your time on useless work” (Ephesians 5:11).
I have worked with quite a few sex addicts over the years. And I have come to one consistent trend, though it may not be particularly profound.
We get into trouble because we don’t get into anything else first.
Wasting countless hours playing video games. Watching mind-numbing late-night television. Scrolling social media out of sheer boredom. These are just a few examples of ways in which we waste time. And into that vacuum pours all kinds of trouble.
