A little boy was drawing a picture. When his father asked him what he was sketching, he replied, “I’m drawing a picture of God.” The father said with a smile, “Son, no one knows what God looks like.” The little boy declared, “They will when I’m done!”
Somehow, children are able to draw a picture of God that adults could never draw. Jesus went even further when he said, “Jesus called a child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said, ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven’” (Matthew 18:2).
Catch these three important words: “unless you change.”
God does not enter a life that he does not change. Let me say it another way. We have a “Come as you are” Savior. But he is not a “Stay as you are” Lord.
Recovery Step: If you are serious about life transformation, submit to God with a childlike faith that changes us from the inside out.
