On April 4, 2019, Michael Casey Lewis was booked by the St. Lucie County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office for grand theft. He bonded out of jail and was released the same day.
Immediately after his release, Lewis burglarized several cars in the jail parking lot.
I think we can agree that Mr. Lewis cannot be considered a quick learner.
A wise man learns from his mistakes. Writing for The Hechinger Report, Claudia Wallis said, “Past errors are ripe with learning opportunities.”
Here are a few examples of past mistakes from which any addict should learn:
- Browsing dating sites
- Googling famous actresses
- Time on social media
- Unprotected devices
Recovery Step: Mistakes are a part of the human experience. It’s what we do after those mistakes that matters most. Speaking of Old Testament saints who had made their share of mistakes, Paul wrote, “These things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction” (1 Corinthians 10:11).
