No one ever had a more successful career as a singer and entertainer than Elvis Presley. In what may be his most memorable song, he gave a really good example of how a man should express his love for his wife.
“Love me tender, love me sweet,
Never let me go.
You have made my life complete,
And I love you so.
Love me tender, love me true,
All my dreams fulfill.
For my darling, I love you,
And I always will.”
– Elvis Presley
When was the last time you expressed your love to your spouse that way? Or to anyone who is important in your life? (You don’t have to be married to express love and appreciation to someone who has made a difference in your life.)
The Bible says, “Each man is to have his own wife, and each woman is to have her own husband” (1 Corinthians 7:2). If you are married, express gratitude to your spouse and to your God. If you aren’t married, express your gratitude to someone else.
Recovery Step: It’s not enough to love your spouse, if you never tell them.
