“But everyone is doing it!”
What parent hasn’t heard that line from his or her child? Of course, we all know the common response. “If everyone was jumping off the roof, would you want to do that, too?”
One of the reasons porn addicts give for their habit is, “Everyone is doing it.” And they are nearly right. To be exact, we know that 62 percent of evangelical men in America admit to “doing it” – watching porn on at least a weekly basis.
Paul rebuked Christians who “followed the ways of this world” (Ephesians 2:2).
I suggest you rise above what “everyone is doing.” Find your purpose. Spend time with someone who can fuel your recovery. And when you find yourself doing what everyone else is doing, it will probably be time to change course.
