A U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds air demonstration is an amazing thing to see. The F-16 fighter jet was developed to act as a support weapons system for the military’s larger and more expensive fighter aircraft, the F-14 Tomcat and the F-15 Eagle. Blindingly fast and agile, the F-16 Fighting Falcon has a top speed of over 1,300 mph and a ceiling of 50,000 feet, which it can reach in 60 seconds. Its combat radius is 340 miles, and it carries up to six 1,000-pound bombs.
But there’s one thing the F-16 cannot do without. A pilot.
God wants to be your pilot. He promises, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
Lawrence Welk said, “Never trust anyone completely but God. Love people, but put your full trust only in God.”
Recovery Step: You can do all the recovery work in the world, read every book, and attend every meeting. But until you turn the controls completely over to God, you’ll be flying blind. Make him your pilot today.
