“In the book of life, the answers aren’t in the back.”
– Charlie Brown, Peanuts
We all need answers to life’s questions:
- How do I stay sober?
- How do I handle temptation?
- How do I deal with fantasy?
- How do I forgive my spouse?
- How do I find peace?
For answers to life’s questions, we start with God’s Word. Always go there first. But sometimes, we also need the help of another person. That is God’s plan. Paul said it well: “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put into practice. And the God of peace will be with you” (Philippians 4:9).
You can’t stay sober on your own. You need connection. You need someone who is further along in their recovery. Reach out to them. Seek their wisdom. You’ll be glad you did.
Recovery Step: Hitch your wagon to someone whose wisdom will benefit your recovery.
