I hopped in my car at 4:15 a.m. to go pick up a friend to take him to the airport for an early flight. But before I left my driveway, this message flashed from the screen above the steering column: Low air pressure in back right tire.
Only one tire was going flat. The other three were fine. Quite a dilemma.
Actually, even I was smart enough to know what to do. I took the other car.
Here’s the lesson. You need all four tires. If one is flat, you’re stuck. The same is true of recovery. Think of these as the four tires on which you must drive:
- Emotional tire
- Physical tire
- Spiritual tire
- Relational tire
You can excel in three of these four areas. But if just one tire is flat, you’re stuck.
Recovery Step: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength” (Mark 12:30).
