What you think today, you will do tomorrow, and you will become the day after that. The good news is, you get to choose what thoughts will consume your mind.
Here’s the problem – we tend to remember what we should forget and we forget what we should remember.
The same Bible that says, “Forget what lies behind” (Philippians 3:13), and “Remember not the former things” (Isaiah 43:18), also says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2).
The lesson? Forget those things which are not helpful and focus on what is.
Recovery Step: Decide today that you will expand your mental focus on the things that will feed your spiritual growth, sobriety, and lasting recovery.
