God does some of his best work from a distance.
Hebrews teaches us that God’s people received God’s promise “from a distance” (Hebrews 11:13)
God promised a son to Abraham in the distance.
God promised rain to Elijah in the distance.
Abraham kept doing the right thing, and eventually, his son was born. Elijah told King Ahab that rain was coming. Then he went out onto Mount Carmel and thanked God for this future rain, in the distance. Before a single raindrop fell from heaven, Elijah received six different negative reports. There was not a cloud to be found anywhere.
Then came the seventh weather report. “Cloud on the horizon,” read the bulletin. Elijah reassured that rain was coming – in the distance.
Your breakthrough may not have come – yet. You may have not found lasting victory – yet. You have not won the war – yet. But look up. Then look out. Your victory can be seen – in the distance.
Recovery Step: Don’t give up on your recovery. Don’t give up on your God. His blessings are gathering – in the distance.
