“In the beginning, God” (Genesis 1:1).
We think we are so smart. In fact, the history of mankind tends to bear that out. Man has come up with some pretty amazing creations – the automobile, airplanes, submarines, smartphones, computers.
And remote controls that no one knows how to use.
But we aren’t really the source of our creation.
There was a sweet lady in the church which was my second pastorate. She made amazing apple pies from scratch. Or did she?
Carl Sagan said, “If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first create the universe.”
God is the author of the universe – and everything in it. That includes your recovery. Do you need to do hard recovery work? Absolutely. But never quit giving credit where credit is due.
