Do you ever overcome one obstacle, only to find the next one waiting for you?
The prophet wrote, “It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear” (Amos 5:19).
In life, it’s always to good things to run from the nearest lion. But know this – that is not the end of the journey. The bear is waiting to make a personal introduction.
Michael Phelps said, “There will be obstacles. There will be doubters. There will be mistakes. But through hard work, there are no limits.”
I have experienced all three – obstacles, doubters, and mistakes. I’d love to say I prayed them away. Or that I found some mystical way to overcome each one. But the truth is that it has taken years of hard work to overcome some of those obstacles, doubters, and mistakes.
Name your obstacle, doubter, or mistake. Then take them to God. Seek his face for each one. Then commit to the hard work of recovery.
Recovery Step: Commit to doing the hard work.
