When I first got into recovery, I felt like a mosquito at a nudist colony. I didn’t know where to begin.
Recovery, like a thirsty mosquito at a nudist colony, is all about getting started.
Mark Twain said, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” And Drew Houston, the 37-year-old founder of Dropbox (worth a reported $2.2 billion), added, “If you have a dream, you can spend a lifetime studying, planning, and getting ready for it. What you should be doing is getting started.”
If you are serious about sobriety, let’s get started. Here are a few ways to proceed in the next seven days.
- Attend a 12-step meeting.
- Attend one of my Freedom Groups.
- Sign up for my 90-Day Plan.
- Prayer the Serenity Prayer – ten times.
- Call me.
Recovery Step: God promised Job, “Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be” (Job 8:7).
