Recovery is a journey that knows no end, makes incredible promises, and whose freedom is only limited by your refusal to engage the process.
T.S. Eliot said, “Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far it is possible to go.”
Here’s my challenge for today. In recovery, risk going too far. Try doing the following:
- Go to too many meetings.
- Make too many recovery calls.
- Spend too little time on social media.
- Spend too little time watching TV.
- Pray the Serenity Prayer too often.
- Read too much recovery material.
If you have to choose between doing too much recovery work or too little, always do too much. You really can find recovery – for life. You have people who love you and a God who is for you. Paul said it like this: “What shall we say then? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
Recovery Step: Let me repeat the words of T.S. Eliot. “Only those who risk going too far (in recovery) can possibly find out how far it is possible to go.” Try going too far in your search for recovery – starting today.
