God has a plan.
No matter the turmoil and pain you may have caused with your addiction, God can turn it for good. Peter Marshall wrote, “God will not allow suffering to come into your life without first devising a plan on how to use it.”
There is no amount of suffering that is greater than the grace of God. “Suffering produces endurance” (Romans 5:3). C.S. Lewis called pain “God’s unwanted gift.”
There are several ways in which God can use suffering in your life:
- Drive you back to himself.
- Build humility in your life.
- Help you identify with someone else.
God has a plan.
Recovery Step: Nothing you have ever done was so bad that you can’t be healed by what’s good. Always – God has a plan.
