We hear it all the time. “Your addiction messed up God’s Plan A for your life. But his Plan B is still wonderful!”
God has no Plan B.
Let me repeat that. God has no Plan B.
“We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (Romans 8:28).
Regardless of your failures, you’re still on God’s Plan A for your life. Not your Plan A, but God’s Plan A. You simply aren’t powerful enough to void God’s Plan A. You can still fulfill God’s dream for your life.
Quit saying, “I threw it all away. I’ve messed up too much.” You serve a bigger God than that.
While your addiction was never God’s intent, he never sees problems. He only sees opportunities. Your setback was God’s set-up for something he saw coming the whole time. God’s Plan A is not dependent on your performance, but on God’s grace.
Your addiction is just one small piece to God’s puzzle. It is a part of you. You are different because of it, but no less a part of God’s puzzle.
Recovery Step: Embrace your life now. And celebrate this – God’s Plan A is still on track.
