God does a lot of things. He creates. He saves. He redeems. He forgives. He protects. He leads. He provides. He overcomes. He heals.
But there’s more. God does something else. The old prophet declared, “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will quiet you by his love, he will exult over you with loud singing” (Zephaniah 3:17).
Did you catch that? God rejoices over you with gladness!
This promise was given to all of God’s children, not just the super saints, faithful followers, perfect people, or best believers.
God looks at you – just as you are right now – and he rejoices. Let that sink in!
Recover Step: There is nothing you can ever do to make God love you more. And nothing you have ever done has made him love you less. So rejoice in the One who rejoices in you!
