An overcoming feeling of insignificance and isolation cripples too many of us. Spiritual formations teacher Richard Foster writes, “The most wonderful thing that can happen to any human being is to be loved.”
Our value is not measured by the depth of our addiction, but by the depth of God’s love. And that love is perfectly captured in this singular verse:
“God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Genesis 1:27).
Author Rebecca Young expounds on this “How amazing is it to think that we are literally created in the image of God? Just as fathers and mothers are overwhelmed with love as they look at their own children, God is filled with divine and perfect love when he looks at us. I find so much comfort in knowing that my all-powerful heavenly father looks over me the way that parents look over their children.”
