“He turns midnight into dawn” (Amos 5:8).
C.S. Lewis wrote, in The Problem of Pain, “Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pain. Pain is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”
Pain is a part of the big plan. What God allows, he will use. And that includes pain. Don’t run from the pain; learn from the pain.
But never forget, God turns your midnight into dawn. The pain will not last forever. So learn quickly.
Recovery Step: Think about one source of pain in your life right now. Now, see your pain as a megaphone, rather than a problem. And then listen to your pain.
