A man loved to play golf. But one Saturday, he returned home from a game with a friend much earlier than expected. His wife asked him why his game ended so soon.
The man answered, “Would you want to play with someone who whines about every shot, complains constantly about the course, and makes obnoxious sounds when you are about to make an important shot?”
His wife said, “No, I wouldn’t like that.”
The man responded, “Neither did my friend!”
In golf – and recovery – we must learn to play with others. God never called any of us to do life alone. Perhaps you need to ask yourself why you are living in isolation.
Recovery Step: The Bible says to “live peacefully with all people” (Romans 12:18). One of the most important steps you will take in recovery will the step you take with someone else.
