I’m all about grace. We are saved by grace. We find recovery by grace. We must live by grace. To others, we must extend grace.
So where do works come into the picture?
Martin Luther provides the perfect answer: “God does not need your good works, but your neighbor does.”
Jesus said our faith would be obvious to an unbelieving world, not by our knowledge, preaching, church activities, or persuasiveness, but according to our fruit (Matthew 7:16).
This is the uncomfortable truth – if others can’t see progress in your recovery, there is probably not much progress in your recovery.
