A few months ago, we were hit by a hurricane. Two weeks later, it happened again. There were differences between Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. For us, one of the differences was that with Milton, we lost power for what felt like six months. (It was actually six days.)
When the power went out, everything got dark, as it was a late-night event. But we were prepared. We had candles and flashlights ready. And just as soon as I stumbled around in the darkness long enough to find said candles and flashlights, we could see.
I can relate to Isaish 59:10 – “Like the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like people without eyes.”
Many of us do recovery that way – groping along in the darkness. May I suggest a better way?
Follow the One who said, “I am the light.” Indulge in the Word that is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. Allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate your soul.
You don’t need to grope in darkness.
Recovery Step: Walk in the light.
